For most of undergraduates here University of Kelaniya is not just another university, it has become our second home...

It's one of the most beautiful universities in Sri Lanka.

But it's true beauty comes from those anmazing memories we have created here, 

the friends friends we have made in this place,

the lessons we have learnt and things we have gained to our life from this place,

sleepless nights we have spent here organizing events and functions,

the movements we led to win the students' rights,

the actions we took to stand up for what we believed is the right thing,

the musical shows, cultural shows and even fashion shows we have gone to see and enjoyed with friends here,

the celebrations we have done here,

batch trips we have gone...

When all these amazing memories add up together, it creates a beauty that goes beyond the words.

The culture in a state university is quite different. We have our own unique sub-culture. We use a set of unique words in this subculture. For an example, study sessions organized by students are called"Kuppi", if there's a funeral happened, we say "Kapak wela", etc. 

There are so many facilities provided by the university for students to engage in extracurricular activities.

Student clubs such as AIESEC, Rotaract, LEO, Gavel etc. are there to help students to develop their soft skills, leadership skills and more importantly to have fun and spend some extra time apart from your academics which is quite a stress relief. 😊

Universty life is one of the best few years in your life where you will learn a lot of things about the society. University of Kelaniya has taught me not just academics, but so many things about people, society and I have gained so much and learnt so much from this beautiful and wonderful place. University of Kelaniya has become my second mother.
